Through extensive time trial testing we have found that teachers save an average of 17 minutes per report when using the Student Evaluator evaluation tool.

This counter increases by 17 minutes for each report that is written by our teachers and has been running since Student Evaluator was started in 2012. What will you do with the time you save?

Fall 2020 Updates

New Features for Fall 2020

Updates

All New Features

We have some amazing new features for our valued subscribers! Hundreds of hours have been put into new innovations, programming changes and creative content. Check out what’s new for the 2020/21 school year:

Distance Learning Comments

With the changes that we have seen in classroom learning, we have added Distance Learning Comments to supplement our existing learning skills comments. Distance Learning Comments may be turned on from the evaluation page on a student-by-student basis. This allows you to choose which students to add Distance Learning Comments for, if only some of them are learning remotely.

Next Step Comments

This summer we had an amazing writing team from across the province create a huge database of next steps comments for students in Grades 1-8. The new Next Steps feature will give you the option to add next step comments during the editing step of the report card writing process. If turned on, next steps will be added to the report relevant to the preceding comment, both in context and score.

Auto-tense

The new Auto-tense feature will automatically change the tense of the comment from present tense to past tense for the Term 2 report. This helps the comment read more reflectively of the student’s progress throughout the school year.

Opening and Closing Statement Dropdown Lists by Report Card – UPDATED!

Our amazing opening and closing dropdown statements will now adjust according to the time of year. When you are looking for an opening or closing comment, our options will change throughout the year so that they sound like a Progress, Term 1 or Term 2 report card.

Updates

Time of Year Learning Skills

We spent the summer creating an entirely new Progress, Term 1 and Term 2 report card database. By doing so, your comments will now sound as though they are written for the 3 different reporting periods of the year. This will more accurately reflect a student’s learning skills as they progress throughout the school year.

Student Competency Matrix

Ontario’s six learning skills don’t always tell the full story. 4 years ago, we added the option of reporting on Character Education. Last year, we added Global Competencies and Character Constructs. This year, we have added a brand new section on Distance Learning, so that teachers can individualize their learning skills comments even further!
